You know, real sun.

I HATE laying in the humid, hot, putrid sun. I need a tan and I have no other choice.
I hate bugs too. I hate being hot.

Can anyone help me? What are you best tips for catchin' some rays?

tan in a bottle......i am the least likely person to give "real" tanning advice, but feel compeled to say PLEASE do not get a real tan. I am a melanoma survivor and i just lost my mother this weekend to melanoma......a great tan looks nice, but it can kill you........

I always read or listen to some music or something when I lay out. Reading works great for me, because then I can hold my book up in front of the sun while I'm on my back so I'm not getting the sun right in my eyes all the time.

One thing I used to do to keep cool while I'm laying out too (back when I lived in NV where it was sweltering) is to either put a sprinkler under your lounge chair on a low pressure setting or have the hose trickling at the edge of your towel (I always lay a towel over my lounge chair) and then your towel will be damp and cool.

drive to a friends apt swimming pool or a public one

don't burn-that is where the real damage comes in

I dont' think a tan here and there for a brunette is that big a deal

Use the fake stuff. No humidity, no buggies and you won't wind up looking like leather when you are 40. :)

rogmel-:(

Thanks guys. I do use the fake stuff. Although I'm pasty, I do tan easily and dark in the sun. I just want a little natural sun color. I think it will help boost my mood, too.

I also figured out a way to kill 2 birds w/ one stone. I've been swimming for my SS. So, I could use the outside pool at the gym.
I also have a sprinkler system in my yard that I forgot about. Not used to those.

I'm 45 and dont look like leather. I've tanned every summer since i was a teen.

Protect yourself so that you dont burn.

If I had access to a pool, I'd do what I did a few summers . . . get a raft and float round all day. Without access to that, I've been known to tote a fan out with me onto my deck and have a huge spray bottle. There are days when that doesn't help at all.
