First, I promise... I read ALL the stickies, and have been reading posts here for awhile trying to learn as much as possible.
I do pretty intensive interval training 2x week (combo of push ups - hill intervals - jumping rope - heavy bag - jogging) which I love but is prob overkill on the cardio based, on what I'm learning here. My 3rd day at the gym is pretty wishy washy (take a class, lift some weights, whatever). So, I want to add regular weight training to my life. So...
What is the difference between the full body routine described in the sticky (4x6/2x12/3x8) and a routine that alternates between
Workout 1
3x5 squat
3x5 Bench
1x5 Dead
2x8 Dips
Abs
Workout 2
3x5 Squat
3x5 Press
3x5 Row
2x8 Chins
Abs
Is one more effective for building vs losing fat? Is one geared more for neophytes? Are they just different philosophies/approaches re: working out?
Thanks! This forum is great!

I like option 2.

You're referring to the routine that rotates workout A&B (3x5, 3x5, 1x5, 2x8)?
