View Full Version : What's In Your Coffee?

Mine: 2 packets aspartame, 1 packet saccharin and 2 tsp non-dairy creamer. Yes, I like my coffee sweet but I also drink out of a monster mug. I know the creamer should go, but I love it. So, what's in your joe?

Cream, splenda and sugar twin.
I drink flavoured coffees a lot, but when I drink coffee made with unflavoured beans I often add extracts.

I've noticed Splenda seems to be the sweetener of choice around here. Is it solely taste or is there another reason?

For me it's taste as well as the reviews/critics claim it't the most harmless.
That is all I add to my coffee (Splenda).

Just a splash of skim milk. Though I drank it black today-- I missed my Tim Horton's so much while in Europe that I didn't even care about the lack of milk.

Usually just Splenda. I like it sweet. It's been a real work in progress to get me to that point. Used to be sf, ff creamer and alot of Splenda. Have worked hard to lower to 2 Splenda packs per big mug.
That being said, I've been working my macros around so I get 1/2 scoop butter toffee PP in my coffee.

When I have normal coffee (at work, at restaurants, at a hostesses house) I have it black. From Caribou, always a shot of sugar free turtle.

A little off-topic but I just tried Teeccino today based on the recs I saw here. I got the Amaretto flavour and it's pretty good (would've preferred the vanilla but they were out). I suspect it would be better with some real Amaretto added :yum: but the 4lbs I gained on vacation make that a no-go.

Usually 1-2 teaspoons of cocao powder, 8g of dark chocolate and aspartame sweetener. Sometimes instead of chocolate I'll add shredded coconut or even raisins. Green raisins were my latest discovery. Soooo yummy! But stopped that when I noticed the raisins pre-WO make me sleepy during the workout, so I now only very rarely eat this as I go very lowcarb on the non-WO days and very rarely drink a 2nd cup of coffee after a workout.

Raisins in coffee? :whut: Do you put them in the grounds or the coffee itself?

Yes. I love dymatize Cafe mocha in my coffee. Better than creamer. I just got butter toffee I'll have to try that. Carefull though anything that clumps in water will clump in coffee and be kinda nasty.

Would you put raisins in the grounds? They don't give off a lot of flavour that way.
Besides, I don't have a coffee maker, only 'oploskoffie' (what's the Merkan name for coffee from a stick you add boiling water to?)
I'm currently both lacking space and the €€€ for a real heavy-duty espresso machine. Till then I make do with my delish concoctions and frequent the local coffee-bean shop where they make the best-evah espresso, and I can choose between no less than 6 different espresso beans. They also happen to sell those same espresso machines I'm lusting for.

I do this, too. I just add a scoop of PP (mine is Syntrax vanilla), maybe 3-4 oz of water, and then about 2-3 oz of coffee. I stir it up and add some ice. I don't add any sweeteners because honestly, the PP is sweet enough. It's a nice change from just PP and water. :)

How do you prevent it from clumping. I've never been successful at it, it all separates

Hmm...
Maybe it's a problem with your PP? Some just mix better than others. Designer Whey tastes awesome to me, but I don't buy it just because it mixes like concrete.
Make sure that you aren't adding PP to a cold liquid; they seem to mix better when your liquid is room temperature or warmer. You might try adding it to the hot coffee first, and then stirring in water if you need to.

I haven't done anything special to it. I think it depends on the brand. Does your Dymatize clump? PVL does, BSN doesn't.? I dont add any water to the PP. I just stir it into my coffee.
if it's like cocoa powder, add the protein powder to the mug first and then slowly stir in the hot liquid ahnd keep stirring.
Ah, another great addition: vanilla ice cream of course. A coffee float. Only in America (US/Canada). :)
