I've looked around but can't seem to find anything on this and its the one area i struggle the most to understand.
What are the effects of volume on desired results. I guess what I'm asking is when would you use a high volume program as opposed to a low one?
Also how much is considered to be high volume and low volume?

When the one you're currently using stops getting results.
Or in some cases, in the context of a longer-term planned program.

Entirely dependent on individual recovery abilities.
I'm finding now that I can handle a lot more than I could at one time simply by having trained up to it; so it's not even static for a single person across your career.

Thanks for making it more clear. So if I want to build up my strength either low or high volume is fine right, I just need to make sure I switch it up?
I guess I was always under the assumpstion that Powerlifters and Bodybuilders trained diffrently and that one concentrated on low volume and the other high volume, but I guess I was wrong

The variance between PLs and BBs is more in rep range and exercise selection (in terms of emphasis) than anything else.
Volume responds a lot to contrast. How you choose to implement this is pretty much individual.
