I usually use nutridiary, but that takes forever to plug in. So I used Fitday and my total calories are MUCH lower than what I had on nutridiary. On Fitday 3oz raw chicken is 85 calores and 16g of protein??? On nutridiary is like 97 calories and 20g of protein. Which one is right?
You should be weighing your meat cooked
Anyway...not familiar w/ nutridiary, but fitday has a lot of different things you can choose from for the same product, so you need to make sure you're choosing the right thing.
When in doubt...I refer to the USDA

Why do we need to measure it cooked? Wouldn't it always weigh differently depending on how you cook it?

because you eat it when it is cooked.
as for weighing differently - to an extent. if you poach a chicken breast it will probably weigh more than the same size if you dry the shit out it in the oven. but who wants to do that. sawdust chicken = blech.

I've had to do a lot of customizing of fitday. it's off on a lot of things.
I use http://www.nutritiondata.com/ (thanks Miker!) I find it much easier to use than the USDA site.
I use nutritiondata.com too.
There aren't that many unique items in my current diet, so I copied the info from NutritionData for those foods into a spreadsheet, and I add them up there for they day.
