I did my Thunder workout and did 3 X 15 today and I am smoked. It was so cool. I didn't think I would have the patience for it, but it turned out great. Thanks T!

I'm not sure I'd leave 15-rep work in all the time. Maybe in short two-week preparatory/unloading intervals, but not all the time.

I'm just saying, 15s don't do a whole lot that's directly relevant for gains in size or strength....to me they're more of a restoration type work.

Which is fine, but doesn't make them necessary or even especially useful where they are (as a day of lowered stress).

Personally, if anything I'd do something along these lines:

Weeks 1-4
Day 1 - 5x6
Day 2 - 2-3x6
Day 3 - 3x10

Weeks 5-6
Day 1 - 2-3x6
Day 2 - 2-3x15
Day 3 - 1-2x10

That way you're spending a lot more time working in the size/strength zone, then spend a few weeks to bleed off fatigue and do some restoration-type work.

follow-up thought . . . do these rep schemes apply to your big, major muscle groups? so if you were doing some isolation work in the workout, would you still do 5X6 for example, or just do a couple sets of 10 reps or so?

I hate anything that is 15 you have really give it your all for that I would never beable to get the last 5 up on my shoulders :dry:

I'd personally leave it to the big stuff. Though I generally think this routine as planned has too much "big stuff" in it as it is, for the kinds of volumes being used.

Smaller groups would benefit from 10-20 reps after that sort of work, if you choose to do any.

I only did 3x12s today and I had to work super hard not to punch myself in the throat. Would have been more fun for sure. :ban: 15s can fuck right off. I hate 15s.
