for months i'd eaten egg whites for meal #1 (cooked or boiled) w/ no problem. well, about two weeks ago i noticed that by the time i arrive to work (eat meal #1 at bout 6:30, arrive to work at 7:30) my stomach was killing me & i had to go #2 immediately . so, i cut each item one day at at time to figure out what it was. today was my first day back on the eggs & i almost died. my stomach & chest were burning, my head was pounding & i broke into a cold sweat. i couldn't figure out which end it was going to exit, but i new it had go. i just stopped gagging & still feel very nauseous. it's like i have food poisoning. have any of you ever experienced this? no more eggs 4 me..............
sounds like egg allergy. :( sorry to hear that!

You can develop allergies at any time.

exactly.
I didnt develop an allergy to wheat until my teens. I developed an intolerance to milk (which I used to drink 2L of per day.. no kidding), when I was 20).

oh ok. thanks. confirms that i will never eat them again
I've read that food allergies can be caused by eating too much of the thing you become allergic too. And yes, you can eat it again, speak with a professional. I've heard of laying off the food for awhile then gradually reintroducing it.

I developed allergies to milk and egg whites last year, it just happens. I do not know if this is correct, but as explained to me by my allergist if you have something in an excession you could develope an allergy (not everyone can develope an allergy, but some people can) I stayed away from eggs for 6 months and now I have them every few days and I am ok. I still get rasshes and swell up if I have whey protein or Casin, so I still do not go near them. And MIlk my stomach hurts and I get pain and want to throw up, but sometimes if it is fat free, I can take a lactaid and I am ok.
TO know for sure, get a blood test by your doctor or an allergist
Sorry, allergies can't really be 'cured' unless you're a child. Then you may 'grow' over it.
But intolerances OTOH are different. Many of us are intolerant to dairy and gluten in some degree . It mostly means that they can eat small portions of dairy /gluten but not a whole lot. Result of too much dairy/gluten would be gastric discomfort (bloat, cramps, diarrhea, gas).
while an allergy can rear its' head upon eating too much of something, an intolerance often gets worse after a period of abstinence because now the enzymes needed are completely absent.
