View Full Version : Refeeds and TOM
So, ever since I started doing HIIT workouts, my period has gone pretty much MIA when I am on the pill. Or at least, i think it is due to HITT cuz I am of normal body fat %. Anyway, Thunder had me start doing refeeds the past month or so and I actually got my period this month (still light but present). Do you think that by having refeeds, my hormone levels which would effect menstruation fixed themselves? Or do you think it is just a coincidence?

Not sure I have an answer for you, but I am currently experiencing something similar. Since I have been dieting my period comes every 2-3 months, maybe its a low calorie thing. How is your calorie intake?

I've had the same thing. When it first started happening, I mentioned it to my old gyno after getting no period for three months straight. His reply was that "a lot of women would be thrilled about that". ;) (Ass!)

Diet changes can mess with your hormones causing you to lose your period for a while or your usually normal clock-work cycle to go hay wire. Pretty normal from my understanding.

Low calorie, low thyroid hormones, low leptin levels = decreased menstruation. Even if you aren't too low bodyfat%

Yup, normal stuff.

:suicide: I think I would seriously have a heart attack if TOM didn't come.

My husband actually asked me last night if I might be pregnant because of the all the weight I gained recently and I've only had 2 periods this year. Unfortunately, I've been gaining weight for four years so I don't think that's the likely explanation!
