Just curious. Thought this might be an interesting thread. How much weight do you use for complexes?

I have been using 65 lbs. I probably should move up...but I don't wanna. :lol3:

That would be 70?

Oh, I forgot, I have collars on there that weight 2 1/2 a piece...I guess I can claim 70.

Why are you embarrassed? :pimpslap: Complexes suck.

It depends on what my complexes are.
This updated plan they totally changed, and I had to drop the weight by 10lbs...

ETA- this last time I could only use 40lbs (and it may drop as my rest intervals do) because I had a TON of shoulder pressing movements in my complex and they were killing me at the end.

I used just the bar... so 45 pounds.

Usually it was 50. Wussy days it was 40. If I felt :lifter: (which was only a couple times ) it was 60.

:yeahthat:

If I am feeling weak I drop 5 lbs, and if feeling strong I bump it up 5 lbs. Also depends on how many I am doing and what the RIs are.

I think she uses 65 +/- 5 depending.

Yep. :) MOST of the time it's 65. There are rare occasions I've surpassed or succombed. :lol3:

I did them last week for the first time with 55lbs. Going from over my head and lowering the bar behind my neck to rest on my shoulders was absolutely brutal! (push press to jump squat) I never do behind the head pressing movements because I heard they weren't good, plus I badly separated my shoulder when I was 17 (almost 20 years ago).

I almost stopped, but stuck it out, but I was grunting a lot (good thing I workout alone at home!) The back of my neck was sore the next couple of days (like a bruise).

Does anyone else find that move problematic? Maybe it's just me from the old shoulder injury and limited flexibility... I'll try them again this week, but I don't know if I should suck it up and it will get a little easier as I get used to it, or if I am setting myself up for potential injury.

I find that movement so hard (push press), if it wasn't for that I could go heavier on the weight.

My limit is BB rows or hang cleans...the rest I could go higher. That movement doesn't bother me. (behind the neck)

Push press to jump squat? I don't have a jump squat in there. Just regular squats.

I don't have a problem with behind the neck either. I also do not have jump squats, "only" regular full/back and front squats.

The exercises that limit my weight are military press and good mornings.

Sounds like it's just me then. :grumble: I think I should probably be careful with this.

Thank for the feedback!
