I tried some out today while squatting just to see what they were like and let me tell ya.......like NO CIRCULATION.It definately helps..the weight seemed way lighter but I think that is only because I was so focused on getting the set finished so I could get the wraps off before my legs turned blue...

That's how most powerlifting gear works.

You should try a bench shirt if you think knee wraps are fun.

Yeah I was watching some of the PL guys in the gym with a bench shirt...it was entertaining. Took them like forever to get the dang thing on the guy then they had to help the poor guy move around..funnyyy

What exactly is the purpose of the bench shirts? I don't know a whole lot about PL or the equipment?

Same idea as the knee wraps. Stabilizes the joint, and gives an extra bit of spring off the bottom.

Though extra bit of spring is a little bit deceiving, as I get at least 100 lbs out of my shirt.

If you think watching someone get into a bench shirt is funny, imagine what it's like watching 2 or 3 guys help another one get into squat briefs.

That's why I don't ever use super-tight gear. I can get into my shirt (it's an open back) and into my squat briefs without any help.

It's a pain, but I can do it myself.

Does that mean you wouldn't let me help you get into your briefs?

Knee wraps are overrated ...

(unless you're PLing)

Well I wasn't planning on using them ..I said I tried some out..just for shits and grins. That is all and the guy that they belonged to is a PL.

I know ... ;)

I see guys in my gym using them for leg pressing, hack squatting, partial squatting, etc. And not to do singles either, bur rather for sets of 10 or so.

Completely silly.

Save the knees!!!!

I don't see how they could keep them on for sets of 10's at such a heavy weight...I can't imagine having them wrapped so tight that someone has to help lift you off the bench and get you to the rack...He wrapped them tight enough on me that they were distracting to me and all I could think of was my legs HAD to be turning blue from lack of circulation..Oh the other thing I discovered was how much difference a good weight belt makes vs. a wimpy one..

I've been waiting on proof of this for like two years.

Why should I leave America to go to America Junior?

Florida's much nicer.

Yeah...there are a couple of dumbasses at my gym that strap on every piece of accoutrement they can find. Gloves, wrist wraps, lifting belt, knee wraps. Then they load up the smith machine with 450lbs and do quarter squats.
