i don't know if this a true error or not, but when i click on a member's name to see a profile, it returns this message:

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:

Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available.

i don't know if we even have profiles enabled, or not. i just thought i'd bring it up.

It's supposed to be that way....you'll be able to view profiles when you get automatically moved to senior member status :)

How many posts do you need for that? Sorry if it's been answered already, still navigating the site... ;)

See...that doesn't work for me, sorry...if all you want to do here is lurk, that's totally fine...you can lurk and read the journals, or learn about training and nutrition, etc...but if you're just here to contribute to or keep up w/ the drama and gossip, forget it.

I **HATE** SPAM and the like. I despise having to register to read a forum. Yay! One more password and username to remember.
So I get forced into making an account to read these forums to see if I want to become an active member. And just recently I can't read the forums to investigate even though I registered specifically to do this. :puzzled::sad:

All I'm saying is this isn't a very new-user-friendly setup. At least put a warning post on the pages you can read without being a member. Filtering out the general chat and profiles is lame. :suicide:

Just how much drama can a person create or contribute to when they don't make any posts?

If someone wanted to be a dork I'm sure they could make a quick countdown of 5 posts and then be an online jerk. You can't stop them from being like that (even though we'd like you to) and the 5 post minimum won't enforce much.
Please bring back general chat and the other forum permissions.

What exactly is so important about chat that you MUST see? If you can't decide from the other forums whether you want to be here or not, then maybe you just shouldn't be here. If you don't like it here, go somewhere else. It's no loss to me. If you have such a problem about making 5 simple decent posts in order to view the forum you're so hell bent on seeing, maybe you're the one w/ the issues. And lastly, why the hell would I care exactly if you're upset about not seeing the precious chat forum when you clearly have no intention of ever contributing to the board in any way?

Do you need a list of other boards where you don't have to register to view? :)

I somewhat agree with ForumLurker. I am here for many good reasons and want to contribute, though am somewhat shy about actually posting. Mainly like reading the wealth of information that is on this site. Now I feel like I need to find 5 things to post or respond to to get maximum info. from this forum and spent about 2 hours trying to find this out. And I did try to find my answer in the rules or whatever. Still love the site and info. it has. Nothing wrong with some constructive suggestions.

Maybe if you change your name, you won't be shy about posting.

But the 'wealth of information' isn't found in the Chat forum. That's mindless banter.

Maximum info? There is NOTHING of value in chat...except gossip and mindless banter....you won't learn how to lose fat or eat right or train properly there. I have not restricted anyone from the "informative" forums. And just because you are here for good reasons, doesn't mean everyone is. And after the HELL Thunder's been put through by some people, I really don't think that 5 measely posts is too much to ask. Again...if you don't want to post, that's perfectly fine, just don't try and tell me you're not getting the full value of the board, or you can't tell if you want to post here or not, cause that's bull. I appreciate everyone's constructive criticism on this issue...but it's not changing :)

Actually I think Leah's being to lenient. I think if you are interested in viewing any part of the site you must register, non of this guest or anoymous user mess. However this is Leah's site so it's her call (obviously).

I just wanted to say that I think it's good people have to post a few times in order to journal, PM and such. I've seen FAR too many forums where people come in and make a nasty post or two just to ruffle feathers and hurt people.

I made my 5 posts and I still cant view the journals. I was just wondering if maybe it just takes a little time. To regester on the system or whatever.
