View Full Version : Fatigue and Binges

It seems like that I can stay on a diet for a certain amount of time, let's say three weeks and then I get thrown off the wagon.
I know my triggers and I know when they strike. It is usually at night when I am not as busy as during the day. I know what to do...tell my husband, go online, work in the yard. Just doing something to keep my mind of food helps and makes time go by until I can have my next meal.

But then there is the fatigue. It seems that I have been getting those sensations on the weekends more often than during the week. There is a difference between hunger (can deal with that), appetite (can't really deal with that) and that stupid fatiuge thing.

Today, shortly before noon that sensation of passing out hit me. Suddenly, w/o warning. No hunger, no cravings, nothing. I had eaten 1.5 hours ago and felt just fine.
Anyway, I ate again and I still feel like crap (another 1.5 hrs later). Weak and dizzy but not hungry. Last week the same thing happend and it turned into a binge after having a decent diet all week.

Guess, long story short... does anyone else exprience fatigue and if so, what can you do about it?

I experience fatigue a LOT. I always attributed it to running after several kids all day though! LOL!

if i get less than 5 hrs of sleep its all i can do to not eat every carb in sight. i've always assumed it was my body looking for a source of quick energy.

Have you done blood work? I had similar thing before, and it turned out I had adrenal fatigue. Check your hormones (DHEA levels and Thyroid).

Ok...
I am just taking the usual...V's, Fish Oil, PP.
I am making sure that I get my eight hours of sleep.
I had bloodwork done and my thyroid levels were slightly off but still in the normal range. I have been taking Armour but I haven't really noticed a difference.
I am eating every 2.5 to 3 hours, sometimes closer to 2 hours when I am hungry.

I realized that there is a difference between my weekly routine and weekend routing. On weekends I have my first meal usually 1 hour later than during the week, sometimes 2 hours when I do cardio.

Could that hour difference be the culprit? Is one's body so sensitive and conditioned that, although you eat within your normal timefrime (every 3 hours), if you get a late start your body reacts to that?

Anyway, today I try to stick to my weekly timing.

Going 2 hours before you eat anything in the morning, especially if doing cardio, can absolutely make you feel that way. Not wise.

That's exactly how mine were. In the right range, but a little on the lower side. So that could be it.

Yep. I think this is it. I am sticking to my normal (weekly) eating schedule and it didn't happen today.
That also means that fasted cardio is no option on the weekends. Oh well, better than feeling crappy!

What were your test results and ranges for the thyroid, and how many grains of Armour are you on?

edit: the symtoms you're having could be caused by a sub-optimal dose of Armour or adrenal fatigue.

I binge when I am tired or stressed. I am trying to be aware of that, but when the fatigue sets in....

What are your calories? Are you eating enough in general? How long have you been dieting?

Hey strong chick - not sure if that question was for me but calories, macros all that is good and I am comming off a long break. It is totally mental for me. I wish I had a better excuse for the "fatigue/stress binge" but it's all in my head.
