I bought some. I realized how much I spent. I furrowed my brow. It gave me more wrinkles.

:P Forged, you are so funny.

The one thing I keep reading and hearing is that wrinkle creams may help the 'appearance' of lines but only temporarily. Perhaps some of the exfoliations techniques work suchs as glycolic peels etc.

Your best defence against wrinkles is us SPF on your face and body starting young. Ultra Violet rays are a huge cause of wrinkles. :D

Its all just like getting in shape. Your nutrition has tons to do with it. Daily SPF and monthly facials help a bunch as well.

Creams can't get rid of wrinkles. If you take care of your skin, it can make it look better and help protect it from the sun and other environmental stresses and this may help prevent more wrinkles. I think deep peels are supposed to help soften them because then you are removing layers of skin. Or you can get them injected with something to plump them up.

I've started trying stuff in my early 20's and found nothing that worked although, Oil of Olay & ROC did make a difference for me. I'm now 30i, but people think I'm around 26-27 and I'm looking into Botox and glycolic peels. I like how this thread follows the "How old are you thread" :D

My dermatologist says that they key to preventing wrinkles is really providing the skin with enough moisture - a good cream is all you need...BUT no way to get rid of them. Creams with collegen can plump them up for a few hours though.

what about retin A cream (prescription) ? i have read that it really is the only cream that can help with minor wrinkles. i'm gonna try it anyway.

Retin A would be like a glycolic peel - it would soften the look of wrinkles. I use it for acne and the exfoliation features of it will help. But when you use Retin A, you have to use a sunscreen with it - it will make you skin more sensitive to UV rays :D

I find that Retin A really dries out my skin and then it looks kind of gross. I'm still hunting for a good product and am currently trying the juicy line.
I'll let you know if it helps.

I really like Lancome products, I've been using them for a few years trying to prevent wrinkles.

I'm 25 and the other day someone asked me if I was over 18.

Either they were dumb or its working.

All the women on my mom's side of the family have amazing skin. As much as I've always put in plugs for various skin creams, the truth is that just moisturizing your skin alone is better than nothing. And keeping it out of the sun. So whether you get your cold cream at walmart, avon, mary kay, clinique, wherever, just make sure it's hypoallergenic (if you have sensitive skin) and that you consistently apply it--at least daily. And be sure to stay out of the sun or have shade on your face--hats are great. If you tan, cover your face. That's your best bet against wrinkles. If you saw my grammie you'd never know she was 81 years old, she looks around 60. So few wrinkles in her face.

The Dr. tell you to start out using it every other night (a pea size) wash with Ivory and use Purpose moistruizer with sunscreen. I used something different. It takes about 2 months to even start seeing any results and when it happens you will look like sh!t for awhile, but it does get better. I no longer use Retin-A, when I stop using I was up to the strongest strength 0,2 which I could only get in South America due to it not being carried here in the US.

Have you looked into the Obagi Nu-Derm line? It's a great line available through most plastic surgeons. There are components of it -- like Retin-A -- that are Rx only. I use the Obagi-C Rx line for sun damaged skin, but the Nu-Derm gives great results for people with lines and wrinkles.

Obagi also makes a Blue Peel prep line for people to use prior to getting their TCA peel, aka Blue Peel. The blue peel is especially good for deep lines and wrinkles, but I've heard it's quite a painful experience.

Check out their products. I know many people who've had good results using the line. The full line costs about $300-$400 through a doc. There are some pieces (non Rx) that you can get through eBay, though.
