30 minutes is fine.
That is what I have always done, mainly because I think I'll puke if I go any sooner!

I like an hour. Depending on the 'weight' of the meal, eating too closely can really upset you during your workout.

My tummy is funny. I've had incidents of bad timing, where I was sitting in the locker room finishing my pre-workout meal, and had no problems

30 minutes works for me.
Do what feels right. Your body will tell you.
So let me ask you this: you have your pre work out meal, then do you have an immediate PWO meal source like a protein shake + carbs? Then if you do, how long after THAT do you have your PPWO meal?? I usually will have breakfast, go work out an hour later, have a protein shake+rice cakes like RIGHT after my workout, and then have my PPWO meal like an hour later! So im getting like 3 meals in a pretty short timeframe......how does everyone else work it? Should I be spacing these out a bit more?

That's exactly what my meal-timing looks like. I've had no problems with this time-spacing of meals.

waiting an hour seems to work best for me as well...now if I run distance, it depends on how long the run is and what I had to eat and what time I ate it at. Stomach issues suck when running

So ideas please. I get up a 5 and am at the gym and ready to workout about 20 mins later. I have no time to spare - Need to be in locker room at 6;30 and out of the gym ready for work by 7am . So unless I get up earlier (no thx - 5 is soon enough) I can't wait 30-60 mins btw my pre workout meal and lifting. I currentlyy lift and do my cardio without any preworkout meal with no problems and as soon as I get in my car at 7 drink a protein shake .. Then when I get to work I make my eggs.. Thoughts , ideas... I am hoping to start with Amy soon but in the meantime I would like to make any tweaks that can improve my workouts and progress.
Thx,KC

The recommended course of action in a case like yours is to eat half your breakfast before you lift, have your PWO meal after you finish training, and have the second half of your breakfast a bit later after that. I'm pretty sure that's what Amy will tell you to do, because as far as I know, Amy and Erik don't allow their clients to train on an empty stomach. Prepare your breakfast the night before, since time is an issue for you in the morning.

yikes 4am - 5 is as early as I can manage unless I have to take 6am flight out somewhere for work...
Thanks for the advice.
