View Full Version : Thinking about trying
Hey,
I'm thinking about trying in about 2 months. In terms of fitness..I'm trying to think about what I should focus on..Any suggestions? I'm going to be eating super clean..

Could you please clarify what you are saying?
Or, perhaps say it a different way. :)
 Am I not making sense again?
ok I'm thinking I want to try to get pregnant in about 2 months. So far, I have been inconsistent with a fitness goal, I'm wondering what/if I should focus on BEFORE I become pregnant (endurence, really leaning out ect). What would you do?

I don't think it matters what you focus on just as long as it is something consistent. Actually, I probably wouldn't focus on leaning out unless you are overweight - just maintaining and eating clean. Bodyfat can be tied to fertility.
Ya I think you're right about the bodyfat..I was just thinking this.
Hey Tina...Good luck with everything!! My hubby and I are going to start trying too in a few months! So exciting! :)
Yay! Another one!
I wasn't totally sure for a while but it seems to be all I think about these days.

I'm trying....
You dont' want to be too lean. Are you getting your period?
You should start prenatal vitamins. And get a gyno checkup to be sure everything is working properly. You can get the prenatals there. :)
Yup my cycle is pretty regular right now, and I have an appointment for June.
*getting excited*
Do you guys think I should be taking the vitamines even though we're not technically trying for another 2 months?

Why not? It certainly can't hurt, and will only help if you happen to get pregnant sooner than you think. Don't forget to take the fish oil supplement, too - since the early development is so vital.

my gyno said to be on the prenatals for a solid three months before even starting to try. I'm on month three right now!!! think about it this way, you need a regular vitamin anyway and is it worth the baby's health to not start now?
hint: take them in the evening. I got soooo nauseous the first time I took it during the day.
Good luck to you and have fun!

If you have maternal vitamins, they probably have the adequate amount of folic, I think it is like 400mg/day.
You other mommies, is 400 what is in your natals?

Yep, 400 in mine too. I think that may be standard for prescription - but I could be wrong.

In the Target brand vitamins, mine had 800mcg of folic acid. In the Rx prenatals, I had 1000 mcg (1mg - right?). I think the minimum is 400 mcg. When my Rx ran out, I just went back to the Target brand since they are cheaper. I was taking those before I got pregnant.
Ya I think the old materna bottle I have here says 1mg of folic acid

Is there an advantage to getting a prescription versus the OTC prenatals? I don't want to skimp for something so important if it makes a difference! I won't be trying for a couple years, but I so much look forward to it and want to absorb as much information as possible. I'm enjoying following along with everyone who is at this point in their lives!

I've read that the only difference is the prescription has more folic acid than otc stuff, but that may have changed. The way I see it, if you aren't pregnant yet the otc should be good.
pssst...
I bought some materna the other day...
...and hubby is giving me the impression that he's 100% on board..
..so I think instead of saying we 'might' be trying..I can say we are definatley going to try in a few months :)
Um.. my hubby is going to be away on business 4 days during the week I'm supposed to be 'most fertile'...this could be a problem, no?

well, if you want him to be the father, yes. :p
unless you feel like freezing a sample of his sperm and defrosting it and using a turkey baster or something...

:o hehe. I don't think so.
I think I'm going to have to stop obsesssing about everything. For the first one I didn't worry about anything except the labour, I was so full of peace the entire time. This one I just keep reading and reading and thinking and thinking...I need to chill a bit :)

I'm on my last pack of pills and just started the prenatals as well....I'm scared to death!! Our lives are going to be so completely different...I hope we can retain some form of normalcy. I know little luxuries like sleeping in will be out, but I don't want EVERYTHING to change...am I being unrealistic??

Yes. :hi:
Your lives are going to change completely. :) You are always a mom, even when your children aren't around. Just make sure to make time for your SO and yourself :) I really believe that that is the key to "normalcy". ;)
Sending baby vibes your way too!
