Can regularly practicing stomach vacuums (the "sucking in" exercise) improve a distended belly or lumbar lordosis?

If you have a weak TVA, it can help with distended belly.
Lumbar lordosis, no. That's a little more involved.

What sort of protocol would you call sufficient?
Days/week. Reps/sets. (As part of a 4 day/week compound movement weight training split.)

Just consider it part of abs. Most protocols I've ever seen have been timed holds, like try and hold it for 10 seconds, relax for 15-20, then try again.
