Food, that is.
Man, some nights I'm just so tired of cooking and packing food. Just wondering what you all do. Do you pack for the whole week ahead of time, or at night for the next day?
I just finished packing my food for the rest of the week and I think it took about the same amount of time as when I only pack for one day. My hubby does get irritated when he can't put anything in the fridge, though, cuz I've got 100 or so tupperware containers with pre-packaged food in it.
I do think I'm going to go back to packing a week at a time, though. It's nice to have time to actually sit down at night for a change!

I  my oatmeal & berries! Starting to love my eggwhites again (almost ruined things trying to force them down when I was nauseous after my surgery).

I pack for a couple of days at a time..but make pancakes and ground meats in bulk and freeze in portion size..
I have to say the food prep and level of organization required for this life style takes it's toll..
I am not an organized person by nature:grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

if im working or going to be out, i'll pack for a day (or event) otherwise just for the day. I dont teach every day
I keep the rest stored in containers to be used up within a few days. With 3(most of time) kidlets home, i pretty much cook everyday anyway, they wont eat leftovers.

Yes, this definitely helps! When I was training for a competition last year (and training the wrong way, I might add - an hour and a half of cardio a day on top of at least an hour of weights!) I did this and it really saved my sanity. I need to get back to doing this. Otherwise, between making supper and packing for the next day, I'm in the kitchen at least a couple of hours every night after work. This doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else when I'm trying to get my 8 hours sleep.
My last trip to Costco I did buy the pre-cooked & chopped package of chicken breast meat. That's helped a lot. It's more expensive, but I really think it's worth it. I also bought the huge bag of frozen green beans. I always make a big batch of brown rice at the beginning of the week, so now it's easy to throw together at least some of my meals.
Actually, now that camping season is over up here, I'll likely go back to putting things together on Sunday for the upcoming week.

Cook your meats for the week in bulk on the weekends. It's a huge time saver both in terms of cooking and cleaning up the kitchen.

:yeahthat:
I usually cook a bunch of chicken and then put it in a huge container to be used for the next few days. I do cook my steak every night for dinner just because I prefer to eat it right after being cooked.
The rest (oats, egg whites, protein powder, cottage cheese) is measured/cooked the night before for the next day.
I do cook/steam a bunch of veggies as well for the next few days and put them in a big container as well.

I usually grill 3 packages of chicken and one package of flank steak at a time. Lasts about 2 to 3 days. I throw my food together in the morning before I walk out the door.

I never understood the "I don't have my food so I ate bad!" excuse....
I ALWAYS have my 'food'...problem is, I want the bad food too! :lol3:
