For those of you who have done a bulk, do you find it harder to start the dieting process again?
For me personally, no.
I welcome the opportunity to stop stuffing my face. Bulking for me is tough primarily because I need to eat a lot of food and I choose to do it from 'clean' foods more often than not. So after a while it really becomes a chore to just keep eating high calories day in and day out.
So the idea of cutting back on calories and dieting sounds good at that point. Of course, I soon miss the high calories again.

Yes, yes, and yes.
I really like eating, but know that sticking to my guns about dieting is what it takes to get to where I'd like to be. That is what drives me the most in the very first stages of dieting.

:yeahthat:
Although, I have never officially 'bulked'''
well, I have had many an 'unplanned bulk' :lol3:.
But, by the time I am ready to lose the weight I have gained it's usually because I am fed up with myself...makes the first few weeks easier when your clothes don't fit...:piggie:
I was excited to diet back down after my bulk - I wasn't even hungry for a few days - then I WAS big time!!! Dieting has much easier milestones than bulking.

I have to agree with this. I do like seeing the numbers in the gym go up but it seems like, for me, it is harder to keep that positive attitude because your pants are getting tight

I agree with Molly & Erik on returning to a cut after a planned bulk. Welcomed and embraced it.
Unplanned bulks are different animals. But, you don't have to worry about that. ;)

LOL! My first bulking cycle thankfully ended exactly at the point where my loosest pants were tight. I was hungry for the first month of the contest prep- but it was summertime already and there is no way I could wear a bikini. So needing to lose the flab definitely helped!!

 You can't complain about tight pants if you refuse to buy bigger ones.

That is me. I am only willing to wear so high a size. Then it's cuttin' time.

Not that I have any experience "bulking" other than eating pre-Erik, but I would have to think that bulking in the winter is soooooo much better than bulking in the summer when everything is little and cute. Big sweaters and sweatpants can hide a whole lotta' yuck!

And this is precisely why I've timed my bulk phase when I did...right through Thanksgiving and Christmas :hehe:

I don't find it difficult either. Sure at first after a period of dieting or after contest prep, it is nice to finally have some food, but I do need to eat a lot in order to gain some weight. After some time, stuffing your face all the time does get old.
I welcome the change of pace/focus that dieting brings. I am usually not even that hungry the first 1-2 weeks. Of course, once I get really hungry and more tired, I dream of my next bulk LOL! :lol3:

I had no trouble, but then I stop dieting at "not fat," which is probably where you stop bulking :lol3:
My only challenge was the worry of losing muscle...luckily this last go-round, I didn't have a string of bad workouts to mess with me. That's the thing that'll get me to end a diet, not cravings or hunger or whatever. Must feel :lifter:

Judging from your avi, you have plenty of muscle. :D

Heck yeah!! I could never do a bulking cycle in the middle of summer! Miss out on all the :beach: ? And hide in pants in this hot CA weather? No way!!
