View Full Version : Blenders
I didn't know where to put this. I need a new blender or something that can crush ice without killing my motor. I don't like the bullet I've tried it already. Can someone recommend a good blender to get?
KitchenAid 5 speed blender. We have had it 5 years and replaced the coupler on it 2X but that only costs $6.00 for the part. I love that they have replacement parts cause we are hard on our appliances.
I do love my bullet also, but it is not always big enough.
I SAID NO BULLET TALK :funny:
Thanks Amy
I have a good one. I'll run up to look ...
Noel has like one of those super blenders. Maybe she'll post whatever that thing is.

I ordered it online...I had never seen it in a store either. The ones that I kept buying sucked,,,,,the motors kept burning out with the ice.

I have the Cuisinart Duet Blender. The blender and food processor sit on the same base, it crushes ice well.

I know you won't like this but I love my bullet. I have an expensive Cuisinart that sucks. I got it at my wedding and hate it. As far as other blenders I don't know. Maybe go online and check for comparisons and reviews.

I have nothing to add to this thread, but wanted to say that I read this title as "Benders" for some reason.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I've seen it at Costco (but as a display, not a regular item) but IIRC, it was about 500 bucks. for a blender  Albeit, it WAS awesome and I was really temped but I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a blender.

Ali - the one you are thinking of is the Vitamix - they sell them at Costco on occassion. That is what we have, and yes we spent closer to $700 on it. Awesome though! I have the grain grinder, which can make breads (well the dough) right in it. Crushes ice the best, makes the best smoothies and it makes frozen yogurt mmm...
(I sound like a damn infomercial!)
I highly recommend it!!

:yeahthat: Thanks Mich, I knew it was a good one, couldn't remember the name.
Seriously, this thing did EVERYTHING. I think it's the same as the industrial ones we used to use to make frozen drinks like daquiris and stuff when I worked at the bar.
Actually, come to think of it, my friends bought one and used it for about a month and now I think it's sitting on a shelf in the basement  I should see if I can scoop it for you ana!

Cuisenart blender or Cuisenart blender/food processor are both great and both have ice crushing capability.

Don't waste your money on "blenders" get a VITAMIX!!!! I bought 4 blenders (1 Kitchen Aid and 2 Waring, don't remember the fourth.) each about $100 thinking more money meant better product, one lasted almost 6 months. Then I discovered the VITAMIX!!! It has changed my life. I have used it everyday in the past 6 years. IT ROCKS!!! It makes a great shake, nice and thick with TONS of ice. WELL WORTH THE $$$$

I also have a Cuisinart, and it crushes ice like a champ!! :lifter: I don't think it was too terribly pricey either. ;)
