This is superb at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas.
Cranberry Casserole
Filling
¾ Cup chopped Granny Smith Apple (I use the whole apple if it is more)
2 Cups fresh whole cranberries (I wind up dumping the whole (reg size) bag in)
1 Cup sugar (this is really sweet, you can get by with 3/4 cup but nothing is too sweet for me  )
Place fruit & sugar in casserole dish & mix.
Topping (I usually make more so there is plenty--this is the best part  )
½ Cup Brown Sugar
1.5 sticks butter
1/3 Cup Flour
1 Cup Oatmeal (quick or old fashion-your preference)
½ Cup chopped nuts
Mix dry ingredients. Melt butter and pour over the dry ingredients. Stir and pack on top of fruit/sugar mixture.
Bake at 275º for 1.5 hours.

So I just printed this out and realized I don't know what size casserole dish to use. 9 x 13? 8 x 8? 9 x 9?

I make it in an oval dish that measures 8 ¼ X 10 ½ X (almost) 3 in (depth).
Kels - A Noel indicated, it tastes like dessert, but it was meant as a side dish. Horde it. Get a huge spoon and hog the entire casserole dish to yourself. It's a one-dish meal. :piggie:
I am making it at Thanksgiving, and I'm making it for the Thanksgiving Potluck at work on the 15th. :yum: :piggie:
I'm making this saturday for my mom's dinner party :yippee:

can this be served at room temp or should it be served warm? if so, does it reheat well?
TIA

You can reheat it, but it's best hot right out of the oven. I wouldn't recommend it cold, but maybe Cindy would say otherwise.
I made it for my mom's dinner party and she just k warmed it up in the oven.

Cindy has only served it hot/warm and there were no leftovers to reheat. Sorry-- If it went well being reheated for Ana's Mom, then I'm sure you can reheat it.

I'm sure it will hold up just fine. Personally, I like all fruit crisp/cobbler type dishes cold... really cold... refridgerater cold. I'm going to make this and chill it. :hehe:
