Hey all,
I had ART on my hamstring on Thurs, and I am having some burning sensations today in the area that she worked on. I have had ART a few years ago and don't remember that happening after the treatment. Anyone else had this experience or know if it is normal?
I have tried calling them, guess they don't work on the weekend!
Thanks,
Alicrmt

It sounds normal. ART generally works to release fascial adhesions (between fascia/muscle/ligaments etc) so it's a different "pain" than normal muscle pain or post-massage pain.
The "burning" is most likely due to inflammation in the area (generated during treatment) and IMO, probably SOME of the adhesions were released, but not all, which is why you still feel the burning (and I would assume also a tightness, almost "pullling" feeling). It's also common to feel effects like this in the 24-48 hr period following your treatment.
This is just my professional opinion... I am an RMT and although not professionally trained in ART, I do use some ART techniques in my practice as well as plenty of myofascial release and fascial work. Hope it helps.
