Trap injury/inflammation?

So, I've got a bad right shoulder that I've been having ART on. In the last few weeks, I've had this pain on the right side of my head behind my ear (at the bottom of my skull, right above my neck). I finally asked my chiro about it and he said that's where the trapezius attaches to the skull.

So this is likely because I'm overworking my trap muscles (because my shoulder can't handle as much). Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, how did you deal with it?

Who told you you're overworking your traps?

This was my guess and my chiro agreed that it was possible. It just seemed likely because of my shoulder issues and the fact that I'm continuing to train while my shoulder is bad :shrug:

Or it could be a pinched vertebra and you may want to have someone else look at it or xray it.
