O.K, so I finished my first week of PSMF and was quite surprised at how easy it went. I lost 5 lbs (all within the first 3 days!!!) which surprised the hell out of me. I actually found it quite easy to just eat protein and veggies and surprisingly didn't find myself hungry.
I did keep cardio and training to a minimum this week though (actually none at all) but do plan on doing one more week of psmf but with cardio and weights this time.

Some of the things I did notice which I wanted those of you who have done PSMF to confirm whether this was normal was a bit of shakiness (only the first day or two), flushed cheeks, and constantly being cold. I also noticed moodiness or more precisely bitchiness. At around 8pm I would just be intolerant of everyone and everything. I assumed it was just the low carbs.

I also wanted to know how you laid out your plan and how often you do it now. I kind of fell in between category 1 and 2. So I decided to do 7 days of PSMF with 1 free meal, and a 5 hr refeed on day 7 and repeat for one more week. (I guess similar to how Erik had my final phase set up for me when I was working with him.
I then thought I might repeat it again in 4-6 weeks.

Any comments anyone would have or advice would be appreciated.

Why would you keep doing it if you were in your words bitchy? You don't have to torture yourself to be lean. That's just me though

Were you taking any supps/drugs?

Oh I'll put up with a being a little bitchy short term if it means dropping a few lbs. If it was for 12 weeks no I wouldn't, but one more week will be o.k plus it's only in the evening not throughout the day.

Yeah, I am taking ephedra and caffiene. (which I knew would cause some of the shakes and I assume the temperature change)

I find the effects of stimulants to be more pronounced when PSMF'ing.

Makes sense.
I do my best when I low carb but I've been told to stop as it stops being effective when it's done too much. I don't get bitchy, well no more then ususal :funny: and I didn't get flushed cheeks but I do feel a little shaky and spaced out the first few days, then I'm fine.

my short term bitchiness resulted in a giant :ban: and a divorce threat. i'm w/ ileen on this one. there are other ways. if you don't need to drop the weight ASAP - then why not take a less drastic approach?

I guess I wanted to see what it was like and discipline myself for 2 weeks. Like I said, so far it's been very easy. No ill effects (other than the bitchiness), with a few added perks, weight loss and a bit more energy. Great way to kick my normal routine in the pants.
I only need to drop about 5 lbs, didn't need to do it in a hurry, just had 2 weeks of being off track (huge family wedding) and with Christmas on the way wanted to give this a try. So far so good!

Oh yeah, and no divorce here, my husband just laughs at me and makes fun of me and all is well. Gotta love him!

It wouldn't cause a temperature drop.

Ticks and fleas on the same dog? Maybe I was getting a cold.

Thought it might be like when you are running a fever and you feel chilled. Didn't know if there was a thermogenesis or whatever it's called happening from the E/C and I was somehow heating up internally, thus feeling chilled. No?

No. EC warms you up--until it wears off. If you're drinking a lot more water, that can chill you some though.

More like, extremely low cal, no carbs, and virtually no fat.

Not something to be done often or for some people, ever.

that sounds like a dangerous diet that Kimkins tries to promote.

It's meant to be short term only.

:yeahthat:

You would usually only do this diet for a couple of weeks if you needed fast results (i.e. shed those last few lbs for a show, look good for a wedding/for the beach/a reunion...). It is not meant to be a lifestyle.
