This is my 3rd week of lifting out of my 'comfort' zone. I have someone pushing me and spotting me now, which I haven't had for yrs. I did a flat db press today at:
25lbs. for 10
30lbs. for 8
35lbs. for 5
40lbs. for 5
It felt awesome!............I'm only 5 ft. tall and 115 lbs. and the guys in the gym were like...![]()

Funny, I read this and thought Public Relations, huh?
I geddit now, we call it a PB, Personal Best.
Well, I am leg pressing 85kg now and will add a little extra next week, that's a PB/PR for me
And I drank 3L of water yesterday, another PB.
This is exciting for me because it's been yrs.(like 20) since I lifted this heavy. I did my legs on Wed. and I squatted 150 lbs. I also did my dumbell presses this week and I did my 40 lbs. like I did last week only I did this:
10 reps - 20 lbs.
8 reps - 30 lbs.
5 reps - 40 lbs.
5 reps - 40 lbs.
5 reps - 40 lbs. Then continued doing one arm at a time for a set of 4 on each side. This was absolutely unbelievable for me!!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GREAT TO START, YOU JUST HAVE TO START TO BE GREAT
set of 10 leg presses on 3rd set - 310 lbs. yea!![]()

I was excited to work with a group of competitive power lifters yesterday for my heavy leg day - 5 X 5 165 lbs squats - with strict form - I am so sore today!
Hello all. I'm not really sure where to post this but i was wondering if anyone is working out through an injury. I have been diagnosed with a herniated L5 disc and have been unable to workout since August. I have been seeing a chiropractor and it has been feeling much better. Trying not to have surgery!! Anyway I ended up with a sinus infection right before Christmas. All the coughing has aggravated my back and I have found myself with an aching back again. Ugh!!! So hoping I won't need surgery. Does anyone have any experience with inversion tables or other forms of therapy for a herniated disc??
id look for someone who does ART (www.activerelease.com) not just a chiro. make sure they specialize in spine.
i had herniated neck etc and completely healed with their help. ART. I also have issues with my spine but im normally never out of the gym but a day or so if i seriously annoyed it.
