You were right Ileen about the time it takes to build muscle. I'm currently on my 3rd round of a six week program, (this one will be 8 wks), but in the first six weeks, everything just got tighter on me, it wasn't muscle it was the result of a cleaner diet while staying consistent with my workouts. This is the most consistent I've been in yrs. and it's the heaviest I've lifted in yrs. I haven't missed a workout yet since I started on this new program I'm doing. It really does take time to build muscle as opposed to losing fat. I LOVE the strength I'm seeing in my workouts though. Some of these exercises are new to me doing them so I'm curious to see what wt. I can push with this little body!! We incorporated conventional deadlifts in this round of workouts and I've never went that heavy with these before, and I'm finding muscles that were hiding in the shadows for yrs.!! I'm sore! (in a good way!)

Well, with my tendonitis in my elbow I had to step away from upper body workouts for ahwile so I'm bummed about not getting to see how heavy I can do a conventional deadlift. The last lift I did was 205 lbs. and it was pretty smooth for me. You have to understand I've been lifting BY MYSELF for yrs. and have never had the help or guidance besides this forum and this forum can't spot me from home! The heaviest I've ever went in my squats or my deadlifts were 95 lbs. Today I did a set of 6 squats at 165 lbs. then a set of 6 at 185 lbs.!! I'm feeling pretty good. This was the end of this 6 weeks program now going to start the lighter weights more reps for the next 4 weeks.. looking forward to healing and seeing my next steps forward!!

This week I pulled 275 for 6 on rack pulls from top of the knees. I was in beast mode. Hope I can keep it up! It's so nice to have some of my strength back!
