AB CIRCUITS IDEAS THREAD

    This is what I did this am. I was going for 5 rounds in 30 min, only got in 4 due to 1. kids woke up and 2. I somehow managed to kick my left shin with my right heel during the full sit outs and ouch!!! bruised instantly.

    burpees -12
    bicycles -30
    kb swings - 30 (used my 36lb bell)
    full sit ups on stability ball - 30
    full sit outs -20
    jackknives - 15 (sooooo not coordinated at these)
    kb snatches - 15 (each arm using my 26lb bell)
    reverse crunches -30
    mountain climbers -30
    russian twists holding my 26lb kb - 20

    Planning for tomorrow...

    Burpees
    Saxon Side Bends
    Stab. Ball Lying Leg Raises
    Plank Pull-ins
    Lying Stab Ball Exchange
    Full Sit-outs
    Sta Ball Full Sit-ups w/slam
    Mountain Climbers
    Chopper Sit-ups

    We'll see how this one goes... :))

    Hey, that's Ben. lol..


    I like to do the following:

    Ball Roll-ins
    Ball Pass
    Plank Jumps
    full crunch
    oblique crunch

    I do each as many as I can in a timed segment - 20 seconds up to 60 seconds depending on where I'm at in my weekly workout.

    Today's ab/core

    Burpees - 15
    Chopper sit ups - 30
    5 dot drill - 30
    kettlebell windmill (w 18lb kb) - 5/5
    reverse crunch - 30
    kb swings ( hard style) - 50
    russian twists (holding 26lb kettlebell) - 30
    kettlebell snatch (26lb kb) - 15/15
    kettlebell pull over crunch (26lb kb)- 20
    full sit out - 30
    turkish get up -sit ups with 26lb kettlebell - 5/5

    I did this 3X

    I saw this asked, but didn't see a response. How many reps, how many sets, and how many times per week should an Ab Circuit be done?

    When I did an ab circuit once/week I had about 5-6 exercises in the circuit, around 15+ reps/exercise, rested for 60 seconds after the circuit and repeated for a total of 30 minutes from start to finish. The circuit was set up so that it felt like a cardio workout.

    my ab circuit consists of
    burpees
    stability ball alternating step off
    bicycle abs
    medicine ball russian twists
    mountain climbers
    floor crunches w/knee tuck
    roll outs and
    reverse crunches

    For my first one I picked stuff I know I don't hate... :innocent: haha

    Hanging Knee Raises
    Decline Russian Twists
    Full Sit Outs
    Low to High Choppers
    Reverse Crunch
    Bicycle
    Planks

    Mine looks like Disney Land compared to Shannaks' asinine ab domination. Next week definitely plan to bring more pain.

    LOL, my son (11) hates them and they have the kids do them at Tae Kwon Do all the time. I sort of like them, shhhh, don't tell Erik :)

    You know...I could be really evil and add burpees to the beginning of each circuit regardless of what you choose. :muahaha:

    But I won't...for now. :ninja:

    Did ab/core circuit today...this is what I did

    12 Burpees
    12 bicycle straight
    12 kb swings
    12 chopper sit ups
    12 Plank jumps
    12 sit ups on stability ball
    12 Mountain climbers
    12 leg over/ dunk unders

    repeat x 4

    I was drain and sweaty mess by end of it! Love it!

    Does this look ok to you guys? I am new at doing ab/core circuits

    Okay, so I've gotta ask - when you all do Burpees, do you do the push up and the jump at the end, or do you all skip the push up?????
