Anyone here have an area that they find troublesome to make gains in?

I seem to be able to make decent gains in most areas but bench press is my tough spot.

It's one area I have a tough time going up in lbs. lifted.
    Anyone experience anything like this?

Today I moved to a wider grip hopefully to try to lessen some of the tri involvement.

    Yep.

Bench press benefits from higher frequency and higher overall volume. This is the only thing I've found to consistently improve it.

That, and just gaining mass in the chest/shoulders/triceps.

Bench press is my weakest spot, by far. I mean, like tragic.

How much frequency, and what kind of volume are you talking about? I've asked for tips on increasing my weight on different forums, and one response I got was to back off the frequency, that I may not be getting enough recovery time.

My bench sucks. But I do find that benching more frequently seems to help somewhat. I've managed to get mine up quite a bit in the past couple of months by doing them a few times a week.

2-3x per week should be enough for bench, in some situations 4 but not many :)

Volume depends on frequency and intensity

I didn't think this would be a big area for this many..

Hate to say it but I'm glad I'm not the only one.
    I'll try upping my frequency.

I've been benching twice a week for quite a while now.

    It's not helping.

When my bench isn't increasing, I quit benching. When I come back to it, it hasn't ever magically been higher, but it also hasn't ever decreased...and by then it's ready to increase when I start doing it again, and I didn't spend the interveining weeks getting mad about it.
